8-inch numbers and 4-inch uppercase class letters on both sides of the body. Keep the class adjacent, in the same font and color. Use only one set of numbers and class letters while running. Place them on body panels, not windows.

SIZE THE CHARACTER, THEN THE PANEL
Character height, stroke width, spacing, and the outside footprint are different measurements. A design needs room for each of them.
Compare the character specifications in SCCA Solo §3.7 and NASA TT §9.
The builder shows your design. Your Race Ready review checks the graphics requirements, and your production proof records the dimensions and placement.
BEFORE YOU BUILD
No. It helps you start with the cited dimensions and positions. Your final artwork, material, placement, registration, and event instructions still need review by the appropriate people.
For SCCA Solo and SCCA TT, the cited national text calls for identification on both-side body panels. A material’s ability to stick to glass does not make a window the correct position. Solo §3.7 · SCCA TT identification.
Standard number kits do not include official decals. Your event review identifies those extra pieces and their authorized supply route. A specialist quote lists any official artwork we can print for you. NASA TT, for example, has its own NASA-decal requirement in §9.3.
