your organizer.

Driving schools and club days do not share one universal number specification. Your registration and event instructions are the starting point.

DetailWhat to plan for
NASA HPDE referenceCCR §11.4.14 says the car should show its assigned number, if any, on both sides.
Character heightThat clause does not provide a universal minimum numeral height.

Our builderStarts at 8-inch numerals and requests organizer information. That is a design default, not an HPDE-wide rule.

PLAN THE WHOLE CAR

Every position.
Accounted for.

Measure a clear area at each location before settling on a layout. A door handle, body crease, trim strip, or small front/rear area can change the available footprint.

Position reference: Your organizer’s current event instructions. For magnetic placement limitations, read Magnum’s installation guidance.

Get the instruction, not just the event name.

Before you build, collect the organizer’s name, the date, your assigned number, and a link or written instruction for identification. Check whether any additional marks or material restrictions apply. A run group is not automatically a racing class.

Before a production proof

  • Check your registered number and any class or run-group identifier.
  • Confirm current event requirements and required official decals.
  • Measure clear width and height on the actual car.
  • Record the finish and check the selected attachment material.

We check the actual characters, stroke widths, positions and supplied fit measurements on the production proof. The on-screen car illustration does not complete those checks.

A few useful answers.

Can I choose any number I like?

Confirm the number through your event’s registration process. A design you create here does not reserve an entry number or change the organizer’s assignment. Official reference ↗

Can a magnetic kit work on every car?

No. It needs a suitable magnetic surface and full contact; aluminum, fiberglass, and carbon-fiber panels are not suitable magnetic substrates. Check the actual mounting area and finish. Magnum care and application guidance · Our material guide.
